Okay, I just bought an '04 which has the keypad. Previous owner didn't ever use it. The book says the factory code is on the computer. Where would that be located? The card is missing that usually is with the owners books.
I can't answer your question but if you take the VIN to your dealership parts counter they can look it up for you. Be sure and have the vehicle registration with you to show proof of ownership.
Cool, I get to disassemble part of my truck already LOL. ANyways, I guess I need to get the # because I only have one set of keys and remote for it right now. I hate to lock them in it.
When I bought my truck the code was on a piece of paper in the glove box. I stuck it in my wallet and am using the keypad enough to get the number burned into my memory. I never had a vehicle with the keypad on it before, so I feel the same way as you about locking the keys inside. Maybe when I feel a bit more confident, I can lock the keys up without that feeling of dread.
I have an '08 Escape, that's the first vehicle I bought with the keypad. If I find the code for the truck, I'll reset it to the same since I have the card to the Escape in my wallet. My wife has the code memorized since she's the primary driver of the Escape.
why don't you change you keypad to an easier # like a b-day?
the instructions are in the link I posted up earlier.
those keypads are so nice. I've been considering getting one for my Mustang and hiding it inside the gas tank lid. Ford makes a stick-on one that is actually a remote FOB. I'm too cheap to pay the $80 for it right now though
I must not be doing it right, I couldn't even hardly get my hand between the seat and pillar, let alone get my whole arm back there as far as that guy does.
