Sorry folks had to do a short notice move of my step daughter. We decided at 330pm that her best choice was to move NOW. We had 8 sets of hands and 2 trucks and a suburban. One truck mine and the other a Dodge Dakota that kept circling me, LOL. Anyways we finished at 745pm ordered some pizza and chilled. My garage is now full of her stuff but she is here and safe so the rest doesn't matter.
Been off the forum for a few weeks. Busy with another project.
A few weeks ago, I scored a FREE 42" Craftsman Lawn Tractor (LT4000). It's about 20 years old and didn't start. Wouldn't even turn over.
After a few hours of looking at it and looking at schematics, I traced it down to a missing ground wire on a solenoid. Got it running. I've been tearing the deck apart and putting it back on to get the thing leveled out (it was WAY out of whack). Went to start it this weekend and nothing. It would turn over, but not fire.
I finally got it started again and everything put back together (with the deck leveled out). I got my first successful mowing with it yesterday!! I've spent all of $20 on it (new spark plug and air filter) so far.
Next project is a John Deere 212 42" Garden Tractor that was also FREE. Picked it up last weekend. It doesn't start (or even turn over).
BTW.. I finally got the brakes done on my F250. Stops like a charm!

Morning Michael! Sounds like you got couple nice projects there! I never run across a deal like that! Glad to see you stopped by to say HI! Congrats on the brakes.
I don't usually either. I stumbled on the Craftsman. We were just driving around town looking at all the curb junk for clean-up days. I'm amazed that it was still sitting there by the time I got back with a trailer.
The John Deere I got by advertising for parts for the Craftsman. I had to drive about 50 miles to go get it.
Brakes weren't bad once I figured out what the heck I was doing. In total I think it took me about 7-8 hours. It's 4WD, so the rotors are behind the hubs and "welded" together by rust. I ended up buying some tools, but I'd rather buy tools than someone else's time.
Morning Jay!! How is your morning going so far? Got that camper all packed up and ready for the weekend? I just have to put a few things in ours and we are ready to go!
Hey Troy. Pretty much ready to go. I will pick it up tonight and we will load it up. Looking forward to lounging and reading and drinking. Not necessarily in that order

Haha Suckers!!!!
Just kidding. I do hate to leave the campground though...
I know I know I hate leaving too! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! Oh well on the good side I should get to see some relatives I don't see very often and they are the ones I can stand to be around!
