Buddy of mine just bought an 02 1ton that the guy he got it from said it has a self adjusting chip in it. I guess the more of a load you have behind you the chip detects this and ups the power. There is a Bully Dog sticker on the pcm but no HP number or anything. When you stand on the go pedal you can definitely feel that there is a chip in there but just the tiniest bit of smoke comes out. I've never heard of a self adjusting chip before thought maybe you guys have.
I have heard of EGT inputs used to automatically de-fuel, maybe that is what he's talking about?
A select few systems do that. But they all use a dash gauge or a programming pod. If he doesn't have that, then he doesn't have EGT defueling capabilities.

That's different.
A chip can't sense a towing load, racing load, or anything else and automatically switch tunes. Switching tunes is done by hand, either from a **** or button on a switch, or by changing programs through a tuner.
