Rear end noise

I have been noticing a little grumble from the rear when making tight turns for the past month. I changed diff fluid and no change. When pulling a couple 7k lbs trailers this weekend it was a lot more noticable. I am thinking rear bearings. Any ways to test this? Other ideas? What do rear bearings cost to replace?

If you have a LS rear, did you you add the LS additive with the fluid?

Eat less beans? J/K

Is it there at all speeds? Only in corners? What happens if you are in neutral around the corner?

If you believe it to actually be a rear bearing, you should address this soon.

If yours is a single-rear-wheel, here's some reading material for you:

It is a LS rear end. I used Mobile 1 Syn fluid which shouldn't need additive. Or does it?

That I don't know. I would look it up and see what they say.

I knew as soon as I posted I would get crap for the title.

I have only noticed it a low speeds but that is because it only does it on tight turns (back out of the drive and then taking off down the road). But I did notice it making a left hand turn this weekend (twice) when I had a heavy trailer (10 mph).

I will try shifting on a corner tonight. What difference would this make though? Eliminate trans problem?

I've used Mobil 1 and didn't use additive, and had no problems. A good product!

In my experience, the limited-slip dogs working won't give you much noise, but more of a "feeling" and maybe a little clicking.

Growling or grumbling is likely gonna' be more related to side-loading of bearings on their way out.

Didn't notice a feeling, just the noise. Any way to check it without tearing it apart. I just moved and the garage is packed full with all my tools at the back (I wasn't thinking when I was packing).

You might jack up the entire rear end and rotate the tires by hand and see if you can detect any sort of bearing rumble. You probably won't be able to hear it as much as feel it, but I can't say for sure.
