I'm laughing because IMHO the gas burner is SO much simpler than the diesel, but I came from gas burners too. They are designed to be more "turn key" because that's what drives the vast majority of them. Diesels, on the other hand, are designed to be worked, and the assumption is that more diesel users will actually know something about a diesel (does that make sense??).
Just stick with your Ford brothers......we'll all get through
I just find it surpising how radically different people are from one forum to the next on the same website.
This forum is unique in that there is a handful of people who are very experienced, and do a lot of independent research, testing, and of course, their own work on their own 6.0s.
Most of the other forums are people that are, um, politely put, the average bloke.
Many of the posts in this forum are "engineer's grade" suitable for discussion at an SAE / API forum.

That makes this unique.
That's the problem. It get's you spoiled with all this vast wealth of knowledge and when it isn't replicated on another forum it's hard to get off that "knowledge" high.

Once you start getting a few interesting "technical" discussions going, it attracts people with that inclination (like yourself Evan). After a while, it almost gets self sustaining as people try new things and learn new things and are willing to post up and share. Then when you get experienced techs that are willing to share their knowledge, it becomes something special.
(and, for the most part, I think we are civil with each other and willing to learn new things)
I am often amused by the barriers between the different communities, the software people, electronics, electrical, active vs. passive, sensors, and the iron bashers.
