Loaded mileage

I thought this was interesting. I decided to run one tank of gas in tow/haul mode only. My truck is carrying a "ready-to-go" camper at all times, so I would estimate that there is about 1800 lbs in the bed and some extra drag from the camper hanging past the cab.

My average mpg with this truck, loaded, is right around 12-1/2. I got '12.6' for my tow/haul tank. Not statistically different enough from the historical average to say T/H is to be preferred, but there is probably no mileage penalty by using it, either.

For me, this means that I will likely actuate 'T/H' whenever we are going on trips, because I like the engine braking feature that it has, and I like the fact that the transmission does less gear-hunting.

just sayin'...

Tow Haul

The unit goes on & works great, then it turns itself off and the RPMs go up to 5500 , then it kicks in again and makes the bus slow the way its suppose to. 2008 E-350 6.8 . The light on the gear shift never goes out. Anyone have an idea?

No, the hitch is not part of the tow package. The tow package is wiring for a trailer and cooling for towing.
