2011 Tailgate replacing plastic cover
Hi guys, I recentley received my 2011 Super Duty which I ordered. No tailgate step, but got the sprayed-in liner. The tailgate has the plastic cover rather than the spray-in. Dealer has no explanation for this, and states there are large holes that prevent removal of the cover. Has anyone covered these holes and found a spray liner to match the cheap one Ford is doing. I have had three trucks previously Rhino Lined and its a true liner. thanks in advance, ranger 621

Print out the thread below and give it to your dealer, then he can make it flush for you. Not sure why they'd give you the plastic liner if you don't have the step/pole combo.
I love the step but the pole is a bit much, am thinking about doing this mod eventually:

mine doesn't have the step as well. I never thought to ask why the tailgate wasn't sprayed. I'm not too impressed with the factory spray in liner, it's not even close to a rhino liner or some of the other do it yourself liners that are out there.
