hey guys/girls, i am looking into buying a new lift. I have a 2003 F250 diesel. I want either a 4" or 6". If any of you have either would u please post some pics. I think that the 6" look awesome but then i have to buy extended brake lines and bigger tires. Any input would be great. Thanks
After doing a 4" lift you will want bigger tires not to mention the host of other items/services you will need. Extended brake lines would be the least of your costs.
Research, investigate and learn about what you want to do and be realistic. Whats your budget? How will the truck be driven and used?
Doing a 4-6" lift you have to consider the cost of: A "quality" lift or "Inexpensive" lift? what comes with each kit? You will want bigger tires, will you need new wheels to fit the bigger tires? you will need longer shocks, Adjustable track bar or bracket, drop pitman arm, maybe longer swaybar end links, Alignment etc.. etc.. The list can go on. Some of these items come with the kits but at a cost.
This is a combo spring/hanger 6.5 lift. Lift is ICON tires are 325 65 R18 (35x12.5)
A good lift kit is going to cost alot more than the bottom shelf stuff. The main determining factor in lifts is where the components are made. Cheap lifts use springs, steel, hardware, fabricated assy. from countries like india and china. This results in lifts that ride like crap, parts that rust instantly and junky parts that dont fit right.
ok thanks guys, i just bouught 16x10 rims with 295-75-16 interco ssm16's in feb. i thought they mite look alright with a 4" lift, thats why i was leaning more to it.
