I thought about that, matter of fact, I was going to do this for my Tekonsha, however there are a few problems with this. First, some of the aftermarket controllers like my P3 have a hang down style override that would prevent an opening for the controller to be installed. Secondly, the different styles of controllers and mounts make it impossible to make one specifically for each controller. Thirdly, the location of the pod would require the driver to lean over ans stretch should they have to use the override in the event of an emergency, thus making for an unsafe position. Good idea though, just not practical for this pod.
How are you putting the "grain pattern" into the fiberglass?
I made a holder for the brake controller that looks built in for those that are interested. it is for the controller pictured above.
I will post pictures later this week.
I use very well trained midget termites that eat tiny veins into the top layer only. They cost a fortune, but are worth the price.
I created a technique to put a grain pattern on things such as this several years ago. Once the plug is done and the grain put in, I will cast a mold and will be able to mass produce the part.
No, but close. I have used that technique however to make the grain pattern on other things.
Do you have some pics of the pod? That might be something that would be fairly simple to adapt. Still scares me in case of need to override the controller having the unit placed away from the driver's basic range, but I will have to experiment with it.
Problem is that my pod actually has the shape of the trash bag hook and goes there in replacement of the hook piece. That would put the TB controller on the passenger side of the truck, and possibly in a dangerous place if the driver needed to override the TB in an emergency situation.
