Sorry this is a little primitive, I did not have a lot of time to do the write up.
First off, I started with a 2003 F-350 dually, however this dash removal and F-650 swap will fit all 350s regardless of axle from 1999-2007 as well as all Excursions, F-250s, 450's, 550's, and even 650 and 750's (though I have no idea why someone would want to do an F-650 swap in an F-650. lol). Kissing butt and telling me how awesome my truck is will be considered acceptable form of appreciation, BTW.
Tools needed:
1 ratchet.
1 7mm socket (preferably deep well, but if not a small extension will do.
1 flat head screwdriver.
1 very small flat head screwdriver (not necessary, but can make the job or disconnecting the harnesses to the socket and trailer brake easier).
First, you will need to remove the panty holder. You will see two 7mm bolts that hold it to the dash. Remove them, and the pantie holder comes right off.
Once off, you will need to pull the cupholder out. Pull the cupholder out far enough to access the two bolts on either side. Remove these two bolts.
Look up into the opening where the pantie holder was and you will see two hidden 7mm bolts. Remove them.
The cupholder should pull on out, but if not then you will need to lift upward on the metal bar above the cupholder assembly while pulling. Might take a little wiggling, but it will come out.
Pull the radio side of the dash bezel out. There are a series of snap clips that just snap the dash into place. Pulling straight out will disconnect the bezel from the dash safely. Note: It is not necessary, nor recommended to fully remove the dash bezel.
Once that has been done, you will see along the top of the lower dash where the two last 7mm hidden bolts are at. Remove them.
lastly, disconnect your trailer brake controller (if so equipped) and cigarette lighter socket and the dash comes right off.
Any time, my friend. Glad I could help! See... us 6.0 guys ain't all bad. lol Yeah, I am actually in the middle of taking the holder off my truck. I am making a custom switch holder for it to replace the stupid thing.

I'm very interested in the final product here. I might be placing an order with you...
Sounds good, thanks! I plan on making a few versions, one that houses switches, one that houses two gauges, and one that houses the switches and has a lower part for the gauges. Right now I am in the middle of putting the "vinyl grain" in the pod.

I'm in!
What about one that just has a useful cubby area too? Never have too many cubbies.
Hummm, now that is something to consider. Thanks for the tip! I might do one that has an inter changing face that will allow four switches, five switches, a blank plate (for whatever you would like to put in it) or a cubby with the two gauges underneath. Good idea.
Thank you! I am going to make the boxes out of either cast composite plastic (like what Autometer uses) or fiberglass, whichever is the best quality and yet still allows me to produce them affordably for resale.
