Another good place to put the tranny cooler is mounted to the backside of the bumper if you can. Not sure if that will help you in this case but i know thats what a couple guys from psn have done and i think it makes it easier for the intercooler that way your not tryin to sandwich everything in there.

Intercooler adaptation

Great pictures and instructions on intercooler installation for early 7.3 models. I do have one question for those of you that have done this project, did you guys use your same stock turbo? and was the Y intake spider from a newer 7.3 engine?

I would appreciate some help on this before I decide to purchase them.

Stock turbo is what I still have, but the spyder needs to be from an early 99, unless you mod your own.

X2 on welcome, same turbo and the early 99 y pipe.

Thanks guys for the welcoming. So there is a difference the y intake pipe between early 99 models and later ones?
There is one on ebay that says 2000-2003, but wasn't quite sure if it would fit our 1995 model. Do you guys know where I can find one early 99 model?

Yes they are different. You just got to hunt for them as far as the spyder goes.

intercooler install

my neighbor is getting ready to upgrade his intercooler and is going to sell his stock 99 f350 one to me for a hundred buck and help me install it. and to boot he has all the welding equiptment to make anything we need. YAHOO!!!!!
