Electric fuel install complete!

ok this was definitely an interesting project for someone who hasnt really dont much plumbing, so i had a ton of research to do ant ALOT of trips to the local hardware!
truck starts MUCH faster and easier, idols so smooth its almost unreal. boosts alot quicker and stays up there between shifts, and a little more responsive on the pedal. this wasnt a huge upgrade on the butt dyno but it deffinetly smoothed out some power. i deffinetly recommend dual pumps to any one.
it began as a budget build and got it all for 425 said and done. but several trips to the hardware store with 15 here and 20 there quickly brought me im sure well into the 5s for this project.
i used a fuseable link for the pumps tied together and then used my 12v source from the fuel heater wire. that stays on with the key i found out(thanks kris!)

these pumps are a HOG on power, had my truck idoling for about 20 minutes talking to the boys down at the local convenient store and realized my volts were much lower than usual, a quick drive took care of that.

i went from this design...
to this, fits so much nicer!! PERFECT along the frame rail and almost completely hidden.

came up short...skin of my teeth i made it!!

7/8th took care of this.

ill get pictures of the valley tomorrow after work. i was so busy cleaning up fuel and tools i forgot to take a final picture.

i have to get a 10 micron filter to get rid of that 150 they sent me by accident, other than that. its all wired up real clean now, that was just a temp wiring for placement.

Looks pretty good. Glad you got the compression fittings and such worked out. Sure does make it much nicer to change the HPOP, IPR, or anything in the valley without that pesky fuel bowl.

Looks very close to what I want to do, except I'm going to stick with a single pump. Any idea if those FM100 filter heads can flow enough fuel to keep those 2 pumps from cavitating?

Well at the moment I'm running a 150 pre and 30 post and it's perfect with 2 pumps. I really don't need the 2nd pump but I did it just so I don't have to worry about loosing pressure. I couldn't be happier with the results

lol!! that's my dads pride and joy during snow storms! shoots snow like 30 feet lmao its actually a craftsman kit that he bought for it, he looks goofy but it definitely gets the job done!

total work time was someweres between 3 hours to make the stand said and done including making the new design all shrunk up and repainted.

i spent a good few hours buying fittings because i don't have much experience with plumbing so this was my first romp with it. once i had the the lines in the back of the head re o ringed and fittings in, the top of the engine went together in about 2 hours, that's taking my time and being car-full to ensure no leaks. i had the stock fuel system gutted in about 45 minutes. i also spent 30 mins making heads and tails of the 4 lines on top of the block haha then i spent another 3 trys getting the regulator to stop leaking. tephlon tape with diesel rated goop took care of that.

mounting up the pump on the frame took about an hour from drilling and putting bolts in, its really tight and clean in there now, flush to the frame and lines are pretty nice now. but beginning to the end it probably took about 10 hours for me, i split 2 days. But if i did this again i could probably have this done in 4 or 5 hours now that i know all the fittings to use and how much hose.

i used this y block
Moroso 65160 Moroso Aluminum Y-Blocks
used all but 5 inches of this hose
JEGS Performance Products 102011 JEGS Push-Loc Hose
2 90s with 2 1/8"npt cupplings(4$ total) so i could use the factory 90s off the fuel bowl with the flared end for the stock fuel lines onthe front of the head

33641 Stanadyne Fuel Manager FM100 Pre-filter Assembly with 3/8" NPTF ports & 4.3" 30-micron element (31865) post filter
and this regulator

hardware store goodies
whole mess of hose clamps Help/17/32 in. Fuel Injector Hose Clamp with Range 9/16 - 5/8 in. (55172) | Fuel Hose Clamp | AutoZone.com

2 1/8" compression fittings
1 3/8" compression fitting
1 1/4" compression fitting
1 5/16th fitting for the fuel rail feed line
all with 3/8" hose barb endings
think it was 30-40$ for them.
and 6 3/8" male hose barbs to screw into the filter bases, 1 in 2 out on each with 1 3/8" npt plug in both

and some final pics

i need to fab a bracket for this, probably will do this today
and because the sun looked AWESOME and just got my truck cleaned at a sweet new drive threw down the road

Nice job Steve. Looks like a nice clean install. Just curious, would there be clearance enough to raise the filter up to a level where they wouldn't hang below the frame rail? I take mine off road enough, it would make me nervous to have them hanging down below the frame.

That is a sweet looking ride. I love the color combo.

Great job! Reps sent.

NICE install, and thanks for the pics. It looks like you used compression fittings coming off the stock supply and return hard lines coming up into the valley. You are the first I have seen do this and I think its a great idea, one less set of hose clamp connections. Did you just cut off the "hump" section at the end of those lines? I'm definitely going to do it this way when I do my conversion.

Ummmm... What if I told you that you might be putting different rubber lines in there here in about a year or 2???? That fuel line isn't technically diesel fuel rated....... Not sure how it will last.

Not to mention its push-lok hose which doesn't like being clamped.
