Sorry it's taken me a while to find this post. I've been busier than usual and find myself sitting here snoring, more often than anything else.
That puppy looks GOOD, bro. As you've stated ... a few minor tweeks and she'll be sittin' down right purdy.
Not gonna be here long tonight. Some **** retentive jerkbutt, shot my 99's windshield this morning as I passed them on the highway. By the end of the day, the window'd cracked nearly top to bottom. I'm so pi$$ed off I could choke the SOB to death, if I caught up with him .. or even remembered which car it was that was passing.
Anyhoo ... great job and that's gonna be a fun truck. Next step a 572 with a supercharger? Heh heh ... dream on, I know.
So, I stand corrected. And I read about them just a tad, before I gagged. Sorry I blew up, eh?
Dang, first mistake since .. was it back in 59 or early 70's? Can't remember.
Anyway, I ain't rich, like y'all appear to be, so spending much time researching big blocks is one of the last things on my list.
So, enlighten me ... how far can a 460 be bored and stroked out to? I'm not an engine machinist, like my brother was, before retiring. But I've maintained all of my vehicles until I got this computerized comfortmobile, to make my body feel less pain, after a long day in the mountains.
i believe factory blocks can go into the 600's with maching, and aftermarket tall deck blocks can go up to somewhere around 815ci
Depending on the block, and what a sonic check says of said block, you can normally get up to around 575ci. There are the rare cases where you can go bigger, but in reality in the racing world, most people just swap over to aftermarket blocks like the A460 and Eliminator blocks. With such a following for the big block Ford, there has been better flowing heads and bigger better cam profiles that are putting little 466ci motors over 700hp, so imagine those on a 575ci stroker and how quickly it will rip a 2 bolt main apart. So, long story short, while it has been done to make a stock stroked out block produce over 900hp. It's a safer bet to leave the stock blocks to mild 521ci and down motors.
Kris is a good example of this. His 521ci is on a stock block, and even with a hydraulic cam, that truck has tons of stump pulling power and sounds mean as hell. If he changes out to a more agressive solid roller cam setup and bigger carb, it will be on the verge of rediculousness!
karl, good to see you. billy madison quote ftw
i thought you might have died on one of your topsecret missions to rid the world of people who don't use toilet paper. how you liking the middle eastern climate?
Staying away from the dune coons this trip. Too busy trying to get the Philippeno's and the Pakastanies to understand what I need them to do and get the dang job done. For every step I take forward they screw something up and I go back 5 steps! I wanna kill em all, and the best part is they all know me as the big bald ******* and I love it!

I'm having problems on the water pump. The schmuck took my money and hasn't sent anything nor will he answer any e-mails. I finally got a working phone again (blackberry took a crap and just got the new phone today) so I'm going to call him to see what's up. I may have to make a detour on my way home to beat the crap outta somebody!
Guess I should go to advance and get one in there to make sure this thing is running right for the wheelin trip and just have a spare if that guy comes through.
I just hung up the phone with the guy. He said he and his team mate rolled their $40K truck a couple of weeks ago during a race and is why he hadn't sent the stuff yet. Said he will send it out tomorrow though. Not sure how true it is, just going to wait and see. If I don't get a tracking number soon, I'm going to stop by his house on my way home and stomp $110 out of his ****!
