Instrument cluster, bulb replacement

I'm getting ready to give my daughter my Escape (sad really liked driving my Escape the last 8 years) but hey I got a Ford Fusion, really like it too! The light is burnt out at the Odometer/Transmission gear indicator. I have a Haynes manual and the Instrument cluster looks pretty simple to get out, but there is no indication in the manual about replacing bulbs. Anyone out there know if there is a replaceable bulb for this? From the pictures is looks like it may be a sealed unit, meaning, $$$ from Ford for a replacement!

Thanks!

Scott

Think I already found the answer, looks like all the bulbs are replaceable, unless someone has some different information, than I have. I'm out of town so I can't work on it until Tuesday, and I think I will replace all the bulbs, so this won't have to be done again.

Very cool, thanks! I tried to do a search but I couldn't come up with the right words to fine anything. Nice to know it's an easy fix, and even the bulb.

That was a pretty simple replacement, about 30 minutes of time. The bulb holders are very small and a needle nose pliers does make it easier to reinstall the bulb holder back into the instrument cluster. I forgot that bulb is on all the time the vehicle is on, so I don't think I'll replace all the other bulbs since it's $4.99 for two bulbs.

replacement bulbs

Hi can you PLEASE tell me where you found the bulbs to replace these? I also need the socket for the high beam indicator. I even went to my local Ford dealer but they had no idea where to find them. This is driving me crazy, all I need is the bulb and the socket to fix this problem, please help if you or anyone else can, thank you.

I went to the link you gave me to Ford Parts. com, I spent half an hour with someone on chat trying to convince them that I do not need a high beam lamp for my Escape, I need the bulb and socket, the part that the diagram shows in your link but I could not convince them that was what I needed. I have never been through such hell over something this simple. But believe me I do appreciate your help and it isn't your fault, thanks. I give up

reggiej, Check used parts places. There was a complete panel for sale on c-list here a few weeks ago. Recyclers will sell you the socket, or you can go to a pick or pull your own part place with a metric 1/4" socket set and remove one yourself.
I do not understand why a parts person would have a problem selling a specific part. Your local Ford dealer should be able to supply what you need.

does anyone know how many lights are in the 2005 escape instrument cluster? some of mine are out and I need to change them. Can these lights be picked up at any parts store and what would the part number be?
