how much boost is safe

how much boost is safe
I am just curious how much boost is too much. Right now i have it set up at about 8.5 psi. Banks turbo on a 7.3

i wouldnt do more than 10 without head studs

that is kinda what i thought, if i where to install head studs then what is a safe limit

without headstuds i was informed 12psi and with headstuds i would guess 18 or so dave runs a crap load more but he also dropped his compression

On a 7.3 you should be safe at 12 pounds without worrying. Dave studded everything lol

I've been running 10psi for almost a year without a problem on stock gaskets and headbolts.

Now that I have my issue resolved; I adjusted the wastegate on my Banks unit to 11 PSI max (floored)

I see around 7-8 PSI on a hard Freeway on-ramp acceleration and around 3-5 PSI stop sign to stop light in town.

I have yet to monitor boost with a heavy tow behind me.

I'm now a very happy camper with my turbo IDI....
