What are you running for mods? 30 seems high for a stock truck, especially if its not tuned or has factory injectors

30 psi is good. If you run much higher your stock turbo won't last long (ask TJ). Above 40-45 and you'll need head studs along with alot of other stuff.

the cali trucks have split shot AB injectors (120cc????) as opposed to the 49 state trucks having single shot AA (90cc) injectors. your injectors can flow more fuel, therefore making more boost.

Ah yes the california models!! Well that makes my statement of 70-80 hp tops on stock injectors null and void. The cailfornia emissions truck have larger injectors than the federal trucks (sounds backwards I know!!) but the federal truck (AA injectors) are around 90cc of fuel per 1000 injections, cali injectors (AB split shot injectors) are around 120 cc's of fuel per 1000. SO with a chip you can see more gains in a cali truck than a federal truck. When Banks claims HP number on a 97 or older PSD they are claiming HP gains with a cali truck.

30 psi is pushing a stock turbo, The turbo guy I bought mine from stated 35 is safe for stock turbo's but thats not what the consensus is around here.

It takes a few mods to get to 30 psi, which is about the most mine will make with a heavy load.

the max i can hit is 20, thats holding it out in 2nd till just before the limiter, it only hits it for a second..lol my avg peak is 15.
my normal boost is 8-10 after each shift then a slow but steady climb with rpm increases to 15 psi. that is of course wide open throttle. normal driving the gauge never moves
