Twice today my engine just died while driving.
It was a few minutes after starting both times. It was like all gas was cut off, and it just went to sleep. It then started right up again, with no problems, and much easier than usual.
It usually stutters a little bit when I turn the key off, and takes a few cranks of the starter to get going. It almost seems like an electrical issue that kicks in when a certain engine temperature is reached.
Anyone have similar experiences and/or know a solution?
pulled my sending unit out of my saddle tank, the one behind seat..
and i had unnecessary hoses floating to the top, pushed them back down and made it home.. idk if this may be ur problem but it was mine.. iam a lil iffy on using that tank so i use my rear tank..
Lol... funny that you should mention the ICM.... I just bought a "new" one a couple months ago. I have no idea how new it is.. bought it from schucks... dont know if they remanufacture these or what. anyway... is there a way to diagnose if any of these parts you all mentioned are failing?
while tooling around under the hood trying to find if there was anything else i wanted to buy while at the store for the ICM, i noticed that the clip assembly that goes onto the ignition coil was a little loose. I started the truck up, wiggled the clip around, and the truck died. Good chance that was my problem. I wrapped some tape around it to hold it in place for now. I'll wait a couple days and see if that solved it

That very well could be your problem, i never did like those "horseshoe" clips, i always change mine over and use the coils with threaded studs so there's no doubt i have a positive connection.
