i say re drill a new set of front rotors,that way you still retain those 11" rotors and get rear axles and drums from an f100 with the smaller bolt pattern.

One problem with using the rear axles/drums from an F100. F150 uses 11" drums, F100 uses 10" drums.

The reason that style isn't offered in 5x5 1/2 is because the wheel isn't meant for trucks.I say call them up and see if they can custom make a set of 5x5 1/2's for you.

I did, no go. Does anyone know if all 5x4.5 bolt patterns have the smaller brakes? I really don't want to downsize the brakes.

Why does it have to be this manufacture? Those Torq thrust style wheels are made by about a few different companies. American Racing has them in Gray, It would be a lot easier to just paint the wheels than change bolt patterns.

AR Wheels...

Unfortunately, all 5x4.5 have the 10" power brakes.

5x5.5 have 11" brakes, either power or manual.

All F-100 vehicles 4600 and 4700 GVWR with 10" brakes and the 5x4.5 pattern came with power brakes. If they had manual brakes they had 5x5.5 pattern with 11" brakes.

F-100 vehicles with a GVWR of 5000, and all F-150, and E-150, U-150's came with 5x5.5 and 11" brakes, if they had power brakes or not.

Diesel, I don't think my shortbed F100 is anywhere close to 5000lbs. More like the weight of of 70's mustang, but I may be wrong?

I think he meant GVWR of 5000 lbs. That is the weight of the truck fully loaded or aproximately 2.5 tons. The truck itself weighs aproximately 1.5 to 2 tons depending on model and accessories.

I appreciate everyone's insight. I hope I can find the wheels I want or something real similar in my bolt pattern. If not, I'll change the bolt pattern on what I have. Does anyone know the curb weight of a 80 shortbed F100? I'd just like to know.

my '81 f100 ranger std cab, long bed, 5 on 4.5" weighs 4000# with me in it unloaded.

im getting ready to swap to 5 on 5.5" brakes..

new spindles, rotors, pads, calipers, and wheels for the front

new axle housing, axle shafts (5.5" uses big bearing housing 4.5" uses small bearing housing), drums, shoes, and wheels for the rear.

when i sold my short bed 81 F100 2x4, i got $280 at $.07/lb, so it was 4000 even. should be close to yours.

It seems like I read somewhere that it weighed 3700 lbs, but I can't find it anywhere.

4000 lbs equals 2 tons.

3700 lbs equals 1.8 tons aprox.

You can get a close aproximation by taking your maximum GVWR, and taking away, in your case 1/2 a ton from that to get a aproximate weight of your truck.

Example, 5000 LBS GVWR (2.5 ton), take away 1000 (1/2 ton), equals 4000, or 2 tons.

Example, 4700 LBS GVWR (2.35 tons) take away 1000 (1/2 ton) equals 3700, or 1.8 ton aproximate.

The only other way to get more accurate than that, is to have the truck weighed when it is empty.

(with a F-250) you want to take away 3/4 ton, and F-350 1 ton etc..)

He better weight it as you suggest. My F-250 has a GVWR of 8800 pounds and weighs 6000 empty. Of course subtracting GVWR from the nominal capacity should always give a heavy estimate. That's a good thing when specifying tires and wheels...
