Wheels

Hey guys. Got a quick question: my younger brother just bought a 98 f150 lariat. He loves the truck but it needs tires, and when he gets those he wants to upgrade his wheels as well. The site I looked at said ford didnt change to the new lug pattern until 01, but I thought they did it with the body style change. Can anyone tell me what wheel lug pattern his 98 will have? Is it really the 5x5.5 pattern?

It is not 5x5.5. It's metric.

prior to 2004 the bolt pattern is 5 bolts on 135 mm circle. Starting in 2004 the pattern was changed to 6 bolts on 135 mm pattern.....
What you may run into is the bolt size. Early trucks 97-98-99 used 12 mm studs. At some point in time, maybe 2000 , they changed to 14 mm studs. The newer wheels will fit the old trucks, but the old wheels have too small of holes to fit the 2001-2003 trucks.
