she's been working out great.i can haul a nice jag and simply hit the button to dump.knowing its all in strong/great shape again makes me happy.
now to get the under body toolboxes and i'll be in heaven.
thanks.this rig is so much fun to work with,it almost doesn't feel like work anymore.....almost.
those bungee straps on the back with the snaps are to hold the gate open.i guess that's kinda obvious anyway.but on the side there are two more eye hooks.i click an end into them and i simply hit the button to lift.......well,ok i do have to unbolt my fuel fillers for now first lol.but thats not so bad for now, after years of manually unloading.
When you fix your hangers for the filler tubes, please post a pic. I have built a diamond plate aluminum covered wood bed and can't get the filler necks at the right angle...
so when replacing my C channel last time,i noticed the worst places that were rotted out, were right over the rear wheels.naturally as this is where all that road salt mess really gets thrown up and sticks to the C-channel's lips and in huge massive chunks too i might add.
what a bear at keeping that all cleaned off last year.
so now,not only did i POR-15 all the C-channel,and the whole underside frame work of the dump body and mounts, ram etc.but i added aluminized sheets above each side of the dually wheels to avoid the majority of that road sand/salt mess from even getting up and sticking in the C-channel in the first place.
this should be much more manageable to keep clean this coming winter, and really help the underside of my dump framework last much, much longer.
these were pretty pricey at the local hardware store, about $25 each.so $50.
but what they'll be doing come snow plow season, will be worth their weight in gold, and they should last for a long time.
oh yes, this bed has been treating me very well.
it holds a lot of wood or chips, and iv been enjoying just backing up and pressing the button to unload.sometimes i'll deliver dirt as well.no matter what iv put on there so far, when i press the button in the cab,she goes up without struggle.
yeah,
im really tempted.
im torn between a turbo or fenders/front bumper/my lund sunvirsor, and a fresh coat of paint.
deep down i know the turbo should come first, cus that should yield me fuel economy increases.
im at a cross roads right now lol.
im hoping to have both of these done before winter, but not sure if it's gunna happen.so i should pick one or the other.
iv made it as far as calling banks (as in Gale Banks turbo) the other day though.so we'll see.very nice and helpful folks over there.of course they should be if they want your $ lol.

Wow, so impressive. I think you are just ate up with it F250...LOL But it is going to show in the checking account at the end of the day. Plus you are getting to spend some quality time w/your truck. I am sure she appreciates that! LOL I can't wait to see the results! Oh, and I LOVE the way you fabbed it....ROFL True redneck class baby! I have done stuff like that before. Funny how our trucks can be used in so many different ways. ROFL Ran over it...good lord.....ROFLMFAO!
I bought a 87 F - 350 Dump. I dont know how I got along without it. I made a five foot bed extention. I fixed it so I could pin it. When I need to haul a car , I put the extention on. When I want to use it as a dump truck , I can take it off. I love this thing.
Your truck looks great.
