he was comparing the 08 msrp of 46k to the 11 msrp of 47-48
All of our complaining and comparing won't lower the price of these trucks. It's the world we live in, get used to it There are too many variables involved with options, models, locations, dealers, beginning and end of year deals, incentives, etc.. etc..etc.. the list is endless. We all know they won't get cheaper.
Buy what you can afford, if not continue to drive and enjoy what you do have.
Tom already mentioned that earlier and I explained myself a few pages back. I wasn't aware that the xlt and lariat had become two separate platforms because mine are "xlt lariat", however, the one I looked at on the lot was a lariat.
An identical CC 4x4 PSD XLT truck in 2011 has an MSRP of $47-48K. Where's the huge increase?
I haven't priced an xlt for 2011, but the lariat I looked at had an msrp of $63k. I have never seen a Ford truck on any of the lots I have been to, in any trim level, have an msrp of within $10-12K of that.
This isn't directed at you, but at the others who haven't yet grasped what I was saying. Yes, I know that the DISCOUNTED PRICE on that truck was $45k and that there are NO DISCOUNTS ON THE 2011. But once again, THE STICKER PRICE(MSRP) ON THE KING RANCH WAS $50K. The sticker price on the 2011 LARIAT (STEP BELOW KING RANCH) was $63k. That is less truck for $13k more sticker price. That is comparing both WITH NO DISCOUNTS.

The Ford F-350 King Ranch model base price is $43,845. Add $1,175 for the DRW option, add $7,835 for diesel, add $2,735 for 4wd (I assume it was 4wd), and that comes to $55,590. Ford's site actually came to $55,200, I don't know what it took off.

Ok, you say you do not see any way that it could sticker for what I say it did, but you go and price them for between $52,500-55k (a few were two wheel drive, but some were 4 wheel drive). That brings it down to $52,500 for a 2 wheel drive(pretty close to my $50k). So some of the King Ranches from last year was still $11,400 less than the Lariat I looked at the other day. Even if it was one of the 4 wheel drive ones, you only got a price of $55k for it. That is still much less than the lariat that had a shorter bed and srw.
Something is missing here. Trucks have not jumped 13K in a year. Not MSRP/Window sticker prices. POSSIBLY if you compared a truck with incentives on top of being sold at invoice to a MSRP'ed 2011.
I think you are missing an option or 2 between the 45K and over 60K truck. You did say the 45K truck was MSRP'ed at 50K.
I simply don't see a 45K King Ranch unless it was not 4X4 and stripped. (oxymoron stripped King Ranch!) Then marked with all incentives on top of invoice pricing.
I know for a fact that a 2009 F350 KR 4X4 DRW Crew Cab diesel's base MSRP for 09' was just a hair over $53,000! Not loaded just a base KR/4X4/DRW/CC//PSD/Manual. Even deleting the 4X4 you are over $51,000.
My 2009 F350 4X4 DRW Crew Cab Lariat 172" WB Styleside 6.4L V-8 Diesel w Torqshift 5 Spd Auto TR had a base/standard MSRP price of $42,455 (10 months ago) WAIT that is before adding the 6.4 which added $6,860. Add the trans and another $1490 goes onto that. That takes it to $50,805. Invoice is well over $47,000 for my Lariat at this point not including my other options that brought me to $58,655. My truck was built about a week before the plant started building the 2010 model year. Oh, and my 2009 is only 10 months old and in that time the 2010's have come and gone and we are now into the 2011 model year.
If you take my Lariat and change it to King Ranch the price goes up around $4,000 for the buckets and trim. We saw several King Ranches and HD's going well into the $60,000 range and that was MSRP! Even in 2008 F350's easily hit the 60K mark. The dealer had a KR with one more option than mine and it was a hair over $63,000.
Yeah, you're mis-interpreting it lol. Last years window sticker for the king ranch diesel I looked at was $50k but the sale price was $45k. The lariat I looked at the other day had a sticker price of $63k and no sale price. So comparing sticker vs sticker, the 2011 was $13k higher for a lower trim level.
Wow, we've heard this like 15 times in this post! No one has even said that this $50K King ranch was probably a 5.4 truck with no options other than the KR package. Add Diesel, navigation, Moon roof, etc. and there could be a $13K difference real quick!

Wow, this is why I have had to say the same thing 15 times...... Go back and read exactly what you quoted me as saying. The King Ranch DIESEL that I looked at....... But yet you still say that it was probably a 5.4.....
Josh what options did the KR have that you saw? What options did the 2011 Lariat have? Just because it's a KR doesn't mean it has ALL the options (like Nav, Sunroof, etc). Those options alone can make up 13K. I understand 63K is lot for a truck but you are not making a fair comparison.
Josh, which Ford dealer is it at, and in which ZIP code?
Supply this and I'll post the window sticker here!
The lariat is at Freedom Ford in Wise, Va, 24293. I was heading to a job site, so I didn't have time to write down every option, but it was a white, crew cab, short bed, Lariat, fx4, leather interior.
My 01 F250 Lariat CC LB 4X4 cost $38,500 out the door. My 06 F350 Same exact truck otherwise cost $44,600 out the door. I've already seen people post the price they paid for almost the same exact truck plus the fancy Info center @$53,000 out the door. That averages out to 3% cost increase per year. That's inflation guys.
The OP loves to complain about something, read some of his post at random.
I would like to get one in June or Sept of 2011 for about 53,500. I think that will be doable.
