Fuel Pump Delivery module possible Problems?

Fuel Pump Delivery module possible Problems?
I have a friend who has a 2004 F-150, He says there has been a large problem with the Fuel pump Delivery modules on 04-08 F-150's Anyone else heard about this if so any info on it would be great thanks.

It's Diag'd on a no start situation. The Module stops working your truck won't start. The funny thing is that the new part is on a massive backorder but you can order 6C2Z 9D372 A, take out the studs and it's the same

its only a problem in snowy areas as the unit sits on cross member behind spare tire and salt gets up there and over time eats a hole in the alum.cover lets water in and shorts it out.
drop the tire in the spring wash the unit off put some grease on it good till next spring.
