Fuel Delivery Module or Fuel Selector Valve

I just bought a 1995 (8/95) F350 w the 7.5 Liter Gas Engine

Seller said he recently replaced front tank pump. However, was having issues w rear tank

What I found is that the rear tank is being filled up w gas to the point it flows out the filler tube.

Was initially told this was a Fuel Selector Valve problem. However, I have been under the truck and traced the fuel lines and do not see one.

I have also been told that this truck does not have a FSV and the issue is handled by a valve IN the Fuel Delivery Module (fuel pump assembly) in the tank.

Do any of you have the actual low down on this?

There is no selector valve, your issue is a bad FDM in the rear tank.

Phy:

Thanks. I appreciate the help. Do you know if it is safe to use any ole after market FDM (like rock auto or parts geek)? Or is it best to use NAPA or go straight to Ford?

Also, any idea why so many people suggest the problem is the FSV?

The problem could be either the high pressure check valve (filling and low pressure) or the shuttle valve (just filling). Both valve and others are located in the FDM.
In your case as noted above the rear FDM is the problem with the bad valve as to why look at the diagrams below.

Because they don't know how the fuel system works. It makes sense that to select one of two fuel tanks there would be a fuel selector valve. And it makes sense that if fuel is returning to the wrong tank that it would be a problem with the fuel selector valve. If the truck actually had a fuel selector valve it would all make complete sense. But since it doesn't, it's just wrong.

Well to be fair there was a FSV on all F series trucks up until 1990, after that it was used on diesel trucks only.

Yes, to be fair I should have said "Because they don't know how the fuel system works on these trucks."

NEW ISSUE

Hey Guys.
So I finally got around to replacing the FDM but I have run in to a new issue

I need a Fuel Filler Neck and it is an obsolete part. I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot find one.

The closes thing I can find to it is for a diesel. It appears to be the same thing but without the restrictor that requires you to use the leaded fuel nozzle.

Do any of you have any other suggestions?

Filler neck it self or the rubber hose that goes off the neck and to the tank?

Just did my pumps and the hose going from the neck to the tank broke, I was able to get one from autozone for cheap

miguel.in.az The metal part that the hoses attach to is rusted beyond use.

I believe my problem is that I have the dually with the huge gas engine. I was able to find filler necks for single axel, front and rear tank, and for diesel. Just not for the rear tank, dually w gas engine.

Could you cut the rusty portion off and just run a longer hose? If not here you go:
