Removing overspray

Hey everyone, I just got my truck back from the body shop after having a tree fall on it. It turned out much better than I had expected it to. The only thing that I need to get them to fix is to properly attach the left and right sides of the windshield cowl and to properly install that black roof channel molding. Apparently the person that installed it thought that it should be centered within the channel and it just doesn't fit to the roof tight. Anyways, I noticed some overspray on my windows. As I was searching on how to remove it, I came across someone suggesting using a clay bar. Any thoughts on how to properly remove the overspray?

Take a stanley knife blade which is about 2 inches long put the full sharp length onto the glass run it with a 45 degree tilt and just make short sharp quick movements.
You will see the paint built up as a dust, by keeping the full length of the blade on the glass you will not get scratches.

I agree with the above comments but why havn't you taken it back to the body shop to have them remove the overspray? It was their sloppiness that caused it. I'll bet the overspray is not limited to the window either. Rub your hands over some of the other painted or chrome surfaces and see if it feels gritty.

I agree with HP. The best way to remove the over spray is have the body shop do the job. If it is on the windows it is also on the other surfaces of the truck.

overspray....

If you're going to do it yourself, use a razorblade, but make sure the window is wet with galss cleaner first. Use one of the foaming ones, like Zep for example, then start scrape the overspray at a very low angle to the window. You can even use 00 grain steel wool too. Sounds like it would scratch, but if the window is wet, it won't. And it does a great job of removing grime and overspray. Clay bar works, but not that well on glass, only on paint.
I do agree with the last couple posts though. I'd take it back to the shop. If it's on the window, its on the paint, and worse yet, the rubber stripping.

Thanks for all of the responses. I'm going to give them a call and schedule to bring it in to take care of the few things that I mentioned above. I'll ask them to clean up the overspray as well. I also noticed that the cleaner that they used to detail the interior has left a haze over the plastic display on my factory stereo. I tried to wipe it off, but it doesn't come off. I'm going to ask them about that as well.
