Help Please!! Leak in intercooler
Hi there, hope you guys can help! I've got an 06 Ford F-350 8 cylinder diesel. My air exchanger developed a leak, the dealership replaced the motor, now im wondering what actually happens when the intercooler develops a leak????

When an intercooler leaks, I can't imagine it doing anything other than not supplying enough air and making less power. I have had a couple intercoolers leak on my turbo gas engines and all it did was make a hissing sound and then everything was fine once I fixed the leak.

Three options. 1) get a new one, 2) get a aftermarket one like spearco or banks (only banks item worth buying) 3) find a used one. Another option would be to fix it. I'd also check for pin hole leaks on the ic boots that is a very common occurance.
