I have an 2005 F-450, 6.0 with 127,000 miles. It has developed an oil leak where the hose from the turbo hooks onto the intercooler. Is this the seal in the turbo leaking? It also bogs down upon acceleration and puffs blue smoke.
Oil in intercooler piping is normal due to EGR system. When the hoses start seeping it is an indicator that the silicone in the hose is breaking down and the hose is ready for replacement.
Once again, if the oil is coming from the intercooler piping, that is normal due to the egr system. It can be cleaned but if the pipe is leaking oil then it most certainly is leaking boost press.
Thanks for your replies.
The oil that is leaking from cac pipes dose appear to be normal. Oil is dripping from bolt that holds sway bar on that is on the right hand side of truck. This is directly under cac joint. The oil seems to be coming from front main and dripping from a allen plug onto the swaybar then running down swaybar and dripping from bolt head. Is this the front main seal or is there something else in the front of the engine that is prone to leaking?
Thank You!
