Trailer Brake Controller

What trailer brake controller works best in the X? How about some pictures on where it is mounted.

I will be towing a 24 ft enclosed trailer with electric brakes. Trailer is for hauling my 2006 mustang and 1971 Bronco Sport with 39" boggers. The bronco is the heavier of the vehicles and want to make sure the trailer is going to stop.

Thanks for all the comments.

I have a Prodigy. It's a nice slip-fit into the little cubby hole. Drill a small hole in the back of the cubby to pass the wiring thru. I'll try to post up some pics of it when I get home from work this afternoon.

I love my Valley Oddessy II controller, nice & smooth, plugged in (w/ adapter), fits in cubby where it's easily visible & accessible.

Ditto on Scott's double ditto post.

This is where I have it on my F250.

On my Ex, it's mounted to the underside part of the dash, under the cubby, where you see it stashed in the above picture.

Mine's just like that but since I'm 6'4", I wanted it further away from my knees so I put it on the right side of that cubby hole.

Oh, and I have the same back-up camera mounted at the same spot. lol

Ditto on the Prodigy! but I use the cubby for storage so I mounted it right below the cubby at an angle - works fine, BTW.

looks like it sticks out quite a bit, maybe theres a shorter brake controller that would fit in more flush or just stick out enough to use the manual brake on it.

There might be one that doesn't stick out as far, but it wouldn't be a Prodigy unit, which I think is the best available. Plus, that unit doesn't stick that far out at all.

I'm not sure what's bothering you. The asthetics, or that you might hit it.

If it's because you think you might hit it, I doubt that would be a problem.

P3 is the big dog in brake controls now, a few steps above the Prodigy. That's what I bought for my new truck... got a screamin' deal on Craigslist.

Ah, ok, asthetics. Now I understand the comment.

Chase, I'd forgotten Tekonsha had come out with a "new" model above the Prodigy. How does the P3 differ?

Mine sticks out of the cubby hole ~ 1-1/2". Gives easy access to gain and boost adjust, and the manual lever.
