I called Rancho today to find out what model number would I need for my X and was told
they don't make shocks for lifted vehicles... Then told me to try Skyjacker or someone that makes shocks specifically for lifted vehicles. I was speechless and disappointed all at the same time. Is this right? This can't be right.. someone was having a bad day or something. I'm going to email them once I hear back from some of you guys.
I just ordered Rancho RS9000XL shocks through Summit for a 4 inch lift. They shipped directly from Rancho (Monroe Auto Equipment, Paragould, AR 72450).
Front RS999264
Rear RS999275
Put the front on tonight and they fit great. Good luck.
I sent them an email this morning and was looking forward to trying their adjustable shocks to help with the bronco ride sometimes. I'm going to give them one more call and started looking at icon and bilstein.
I briefly checked and couldn't find any rancho shocks that fit an 8" lift or up. Even rancho's website has lift packages for superduty/excursions only up to 6". I checked rocky mountain suspension and a few other websites.
Might be time to check other options. Rize makes shocks for an 8" lift. Icon, Fox, and bilstein do as well.

Yep, I'm going to look at Rize. Alot of guys are high on bilsteins, but I want to stay with an American company.
Sorry to drag this back up, but just to clarify... Rancho doesn't make a lift taller than 4". They used to only make 3.5" lifts as a max. That might explain why they would say they don't offer shocks for your lifted application - because they don't want to be responsible for matching shocks to your specific needs.
I would suggest finding out what other companies offer shocks for your specific lift height, check their shock's specs (max extended and compressed lengths, eye configuration, etc.) and cross reference that to the Rancho catalog.
