pyrometer ?

Thanks to my new mbrp exhaust i have to reinstall my pyrometer probe.. before this exhaust i had it post turb. now i want to put it pre turbo.. if i put it in the up pipes do i need the clamps or can i still drill and tap the pipe. if i can drill and tap do i need to worry about the flakes getting into my turbo?

You are heading in the correct direction to move it pre-turbo. You can drill and tap the up-pipe or the manifold, either will work just fine.

When I do the up-pipes I either leave the truck running and/or put a magnet in the hole after I am done. Any beyond that won't hurt anything.

Be sure to wear eye protection though.

I drilled a pilot hole, then used a magnet and grabbed the wifes vacuum cleaner (dont tell her) and sucked anything I missed.

I drilled the up-pipe, tapped, and installed the adapter & pyro sensor with the truck on a lift. Almost all of the shavings will fall out -- any inside will blow out through the turbo.

Not that I know of -- too hard to get to, Jay! And it's better closer to the engine, anyway.
