Nope, just being realistic.....I haven't made my mind up yet, and have more meetings tomorrow. It will all come down to $$$$$$ Which place is better for the family, I'm not getting any younger.....lol
The thing is Walt, I could be working in the shop in town NOW. It would take me a year or two to build one here. I would rather spend that 2 years building hotrods than building a shop. I have access to 10's of thousands of acres of friends farms etc, so I really don't need to pay taxes on land I have no need for.
Well you do have a point there. Just watch out for the neighbors.
As for me, once I move again, and I do have one more move left in me, I will not be in town again. To many damn rules when you live in town. Can't work after 10 PM, can't start until after 7 AM, can't play the music to loud, can't cuss when you smash your finger, can't have a gun in the barn to run off revenuers, can't pee out the back door.
Condon only has 600 people and is wayyyy laid back. Nobody bothers nobody here, and our crime rate is almost 0.....
We had a home in Condon about 15 years ago and liked living there. This place is on a dead end road and 2 sides are bordered by wheat land.
I really love living out of town (have for the last 15 years) but it might be time for change.....
The main thing for us is the large, nice shop, with enough land to keep all my projects on. When I sold my shop in Arlington I kept 500' of brand new 6' cyclone fencing with sight obscuring slats, 2- 16' gates etc. If I do buy the place I'll install it all around the place and be fairly secure.
No neighbors can see the deck on the back of the house, so I can pee of the deck whenever I want........lol
I don't care if its only 600 people...............I do not want neighbors anymore PERIOD!
We are quiet folks, a little yard work and a vehicle projects are it.........our noise STOPS at about 9 in the evening.
I am sick of people who pound music and party until 3-4 in the morning, yell, scream, argue, rev up dirt bikes and quads, idle diesel pick-ups for 1/2 hour in the morning..........I HATE NEIGHBORS!
I would stay in the sticks at all costs.
When I make my final move out to the woods upriver, if you are coming up my driveway........YOU BETTER HAVE BUSINESS WITH ME!
An undercarriage was, nice. Better in the spring though to help wash the salt off.
Oregon doe's not use salt it might pollute the river's according to the *********!!!!

There might of been a foot of water, ODOT had no vehicle restrictions. It get's much deeper through this area, it has been closed to all traffic a few times in the last few years.
