Found a Jeep J-Series truck with the "Honcho" trim package...has a set of tube bumpers in the bed. I might just grab 'em soon if they don't up and disappear.
Also found numerous intermittent-type windshield wiper switches, but I'm not sure if they're any good. They're in vehicles that have rolled-down windows, so I figure the weather's done got to them. I could always just get the governor box though and buy a new switch.
Found a factory Ford underhood toolbox AND retractable underhood work light on a Bronco. The toolbox has a big split down one side or I'd have bought it. I got to thinking and I think I can fix it with some small L-brackets. I'd have to look at the underhood light to see if it's worth cleaning up.
And finally....on my way out of the yard, I strolled past an old 70s Ford van....the vehicle itself is junk, but it had a set of those chrome dog-dish hubcaps that I've been wanting. Two are rusty, but I'll be repainting them sometime in the near future. Paid $4 for the set.
And that van had the most pristine set of gauges I have ever seen. The plastic cover was as clear as glass, and the gauges weren't faded at all. :O

So today I was going to work on my truck then my voltmeter broke and I've not even had it two months, my last one got blew up when the last battery exploded on me. So I figured I'd throw the battery charger on my truck then the negative clamp came apart. So I called it a day on my truck.
So shortly after that a guy wanted me to do a complete rework of his brakes on his Aerostar, I figure what the hey that shouldn't be too hard. The brakes were bad, there were no inside pads, the pistons for the calipers were all that was stopping the van. Also the rotors had chunks out of them and were starting to seperate. Then when I pulled the rotors off the spindles were scored as the bearings were completely toast. So didn't have time to replace the spindles, but changed the bearings, rotors, calipers, pads. Now I was worried about the back, took the tire off and the entire drum is caked in grease, not good. Took the drum off and again no padding left to the shoes and everything had a thick coating of grease even the shoes, had to scrap them off to see how bad they were wore. So now he gets to come back another day and I'll change the rear seals and bearings.
And just got a call saying the tractor is down so no work on the farm tonight. I think I'm going bed, get to go drive people around tommorow that should go better.

Rezvani's Latest Post-Apocalyptic Monster Is a Ford F-150 Raptor Underneath
Funny thing happend today. A guy that lives down the road from me has an 04 Dodge ram 3500 with a cummins. The POS dies right infront of my house so I go and tow him back, with my 98 V10 that has 2X the miles and 4X the abuse but has never broken down.
He said that was the third time it had broken down and had to be towed.
I get to talking to the guy and found out that he has about $500 bucks worth of scrap metal he said I could have if I would hual it off for him.
Went to the pull a part today, saw a really nice 250 ranger (80-81 couldn't see from the distance) sitting in the holding pen, I asked the manager lady if they would sell it whole and she told me no, its parts are worth more and wouldn't budge. I walked away fuming that someone would junk a truck like that, wish I could steal her before the crows get to her and cut everything out...
they wont, I asked what it would take and she kept saying no, it was their policy not to sell trucks, cars yeah, but not trucks. I am full of swear words just thinking about it. I could probably get it if I agreed to pay their list price for everything in the truck ( all the parts sold individually.)
