I'm trying to find an engine mounted hyd pump. Have any of you guys ever seen one that fits an IDI? I would prefer one that uses an electric clutch similar to an AC compressor. Does anyone have any other suggestions for mounting a hyd pump to one of these trucks?

depending on what you want to do with it the power steering pum is likely to be adequate, even the milemarker hydralic winches run off the power stearing pump
I've got a 88 parts truck that used to have a hydraulic pump mounted, The mount moves the ps pump up to where the a/c compressor would be. The mount and one of the hoses is still there but the pump is gone.

I am wanting to run a hydraulic winch along with some other stuff like maybe an air compressor. My bud is a hydraulic specialist and he says the same thing, use the power steering pump which I may end up doing. I was just hoping for something better.

Hmm.. that looks like a good idea Clayton but unfortunately I'm not willing to give up my AC for this project. LOL
Powersteering pumps are somwhat limited in flow. This link is to a company we have used in the past. Their kits are not cheap, but are complete and not hard to install...... Don Hydraulics by Deweze
I doubt the power steering pump will handle an air compressor, the mile marker winch has been around for a long time and I haven't heard any bad talk about them.
How big of a winch are you wanting, and is a pto pump an option.

I've got a 10k PTO winch that I plan on using that we've already converted to run from a hyd motor. As for using it with a PTO that would be ideal except I have no place for a PTO on my truck and the only way I could put one on would be to swap the Tcase for one with place for a PTO. I know the power steering pump would be strong enough but the low volume would make it extremely slow when using ****** blocks. My bud has one on his truck we built about 10 years ago. It works good but then again he has never used it. LOL

Thanks for the link Don. I'm getting some good ideas from it.
deweze are well engineered products. they've been mounted on towtrucks for a long time. just as a rule of thumb, get two sizes larger of a pump than what you think you need. that way when you idle it up to 1100 rpm, the pump won't be struggling.
