I have 105,000 on my 96, It's a city driver mostly, I'm harsh on it... my pop and I changed out the radiator and water pump because of some heating/leak issues, and for a while there were some weird noises from the truck at one point, but they went away.
I bought my '86 F-250 For $500 to use as a boat hauler to keep at my summer home. It ran like crap, and the clutch was out. Replaced the carb and ignition system for an older vintage system; runs great now. Put in a new clutch; old one was totally worn.
Here's the kicker; it has 75K on the clock. I found receipts in the glovebox for 3 (!!) earlier clutch replacements. No mileage indicated on the earlier receipts. With 4 clutch replacements, it's anyone's guess how many miles are on the vehicle; 175k, 275K, 375K??.
Or it could be that the earlier owners were hard on the clutch.
My '84 is well over 225,000. No engine work ever needed and engine runs strong for current owner. Even the clutch hydraulics, slave, master, lines, and fluid are original though it is well into third clutch.
