Leaking oil Cooler?

Leaking oil Cooler?
I had a leaking water pump so I replaced that, now it appears as if the oil cooler is leaking, not into the engine though....Is this common? and if so what usually causes the leak?......Is there any reason I cant just bypass is and run the hose right from the pump to the radiator? I dont wanna remove it, I just dont wanna use it.

you can get a lower rad house from 92 f250 and it will go right to the waterpump port and by pass it. I guess it would be okay to just bypass it and just cap the ends to keep stuff out of the now empty coolant passages.
