Well I recently changed my water pump and switched to Amsoil, now I have a scum of oil in my coolant. could it be that the long bolts for my water pump go through the front cover and if the threads don't have sealant? I really don't wanna get an oil cooler or its o-rings, and there was 0 oil before the pump so? could the increased pressure from the good pump have taken out my seals? or shouldn't the oil pressure have done that?
And did the engine get severly overheated before you discovered the water pump was bad?
Usually the first thing to suspect when there is oil in the coolant is oil cooler and/or injector cups.

I've never made the association between overheating and injector cups before, but it is an extremely logical conclusion. Reps for teaching me something (again).
it would most definitely be oil as it doesn't smell of diesel, but would it? its not alot of oil, I am gonna seal the threads on the oil pum up, coujld it just be residue from the oil pump change?
