I bought an older version of the Edge Juice w/Attitude. While trying to install, found that I needed a newer version of the accelerator pedal assembly. My Ex had seperate pplugs for the IVS and TPS and the Edge wiring had one compbined harness. Found an aftermarket matching pedal assembly online, installed it, put in the Edge unit. What I installed was an aftermarket pedal assembly, DORMAN 699-203. Ran fine until about a week ago. Started getting RPM drops/misses and now occasional dead pedal. Tripped OBD code P0221. Seems like the issue could be either bad job of wiring connection (had to cut/splice pedal wiring for new pedal assembly) causing intermittent loss of read from IVS, or simply that the pedal assembly is faulty. Anybody had similar problems with the Dorman pedals? Are they junk, or is my wiring attempt the problem?

Reason: confusing even to me, and I wrote it!
I first put this out on the Excursion forum and they suggested I look in this forum. Their thoughts are the TPS. Here is the issue:
On the Sunday after Thanksgiving this past year we were driving back to ATL from Lowell, IN. We ended up in stop and go traffic from half way down Monteagle through Chattanooga. The normally 40 minute ride took over 3 hours. On the outskirts of Chattanooga the X took on a mind of it's own. For no reason it started to speed up on it's own, or when I wanted it to go faster it did nothing. I pulled off at the first rest area in GA and let it rest for a while. We then went another 2 hours at the speed limit to Conyers, GA (close to home) when it started acting up again. The next day I took it to a local mechanic who could not make it act up and told me to avoid sitting in traffic with it. Like that's gonna happen.
I am putting this out to the collective wisdom to see if anyone has any ideas as to what happened and what I should do about it.

DTC P1668 and P1670 indicates that a communication error has occurred between the PCM and the IDM.
Possible causes:
Open fuse
IDM relay
Open or shorted IDM enable circuit
Open/short in EF circuit
Open/short in FDCS circuit
IDM powering circuits

Very intersted in this dirty IVS thing. My truck was a contractors truck ('06 F250 w 5.4) and the entire truck inside and out is coated with dirt/dust. All electrical components under the dash are covered in dirt.
My truck starts fine but at a stop light, throttle has a dead spot until about 1900rpm, then throttle comes back in. Runs fine at full throttle but accelleration always hesitates with a dead spot at start.
Dirty IVS??? Will clean this weekend if I can find it!
