If possible could you guys post some pics of aftermarket tack location. Im just not sure what is going to look best and could use some pics to get the wheels turning. Thanks for the help.
This is a pretty typical location, attached to the steering column with a large hose clamp. Other people have inserted the tach into the a/c register to the left of the steering wheel, if you don't have a/c.
I bought a universal mounting kit by Scoshe from Walmart, and I had to cut out part of the metal bracket(the mounting holes for the old-style radio) so it would fit.
My truck didn't come with air, so I took the plastic from a dash that had air, removed the vent and slid a 3" tach in there. It fits like a glove, I'll take a few pictures in a few minutes.
funny....my dad laughed at me when i said i was going to get a tach with a shift light for my truck, bc "auto transmissions shift when they're ready, you dont need a light to tell you when its going to!"
