funny....my dad laughed at me when i said i was going to get a tach with a shift light for my truck, bc "auto transmissions shift when they're ready, you dont need a light to tell you when its going to!"
Not really. Ever stick a C6 in low gear or run a full manual valve body?
This is not a stock trans, nor is it behind a bone stock 460.
Besides, the stock handle attaches to a B&M shifter which is then attached to the transmission via cable.
Stock appearances are not always what they appear.
His truck could be stock though? Mine and your trucks are two different trucks; that's why mine doesn't have one. I drive mine daily and won't be put in a situation to need one, where you might need one. Bottom line, if it's your truck, and you want the light-- install a light lol are you building the truck for your taste/needs, or for someone else's?
Thanks for all the reply's. It has really helped me decide what to do. I am mounting it just right of the steering wheel behind the dashpad. Im using one of the screw holes that holds the dashpad and running the whires down the defrost fort. Im not worried about the heat from here on the whires as I will be using a whire insulation. I like the look of the columb mouted one, but dont want to be taking my eyes that far off the road. Thanks again guys for all your help.
I like the ashtray one too.. I like to keep my truck looking neat; I don't like a bunch of custom parts. I think factory looks best nine times out of ten.
and when I do have to customize something, I like to keep it unnoticeable..
i wasnt picking on you man for having a shift light and what not, just saying what my dad said. hell, i even put one in my truck! and all i have is a 400 with a cam in it. for my truck, just looks cool (i think) haha. yours, yea-probably use it with purpose. i like the "extreme" truck, with power switches for it to run...always wanted to do that
