Same location, it doesn't obscure the dash gauges but still gives me a good visual on the tach....

Ha! good eye, i rarely pay attention to posting dates, i haven't been following the threads much this weekend.

Must of been a fluke on FTE's part (or perhaps my browser) because when i logged on this particular thread was shown as "newest thread" so go figure.

Since this thread is long dead hijacking shouldn't be an issue.....so how's your new diesel coming along? i thought for sure you may do the Ranger diesel swap, but regardless that's a nice new rig you got there.

I tossed around the idea of doing the diesel swap in the Ranger so much I gave myself headaches.

Not really, but close to it.

Even had some leads on an Isuzu 4BD and a couple Mitsubishi 4D55 engines. But the 2.9 in the Ranger ran so well and got excellent mpg it was hard to justify. Especially after scrapping the FM145 tranny and swapping in an M5OD. It didn't cost much more than $200 to do the swap, but going to a diesel would mean swapping in yet another tranny and in the case of the Mitsu engine, likely going back to an FM145/146. Yeah right!

Sooooo.... long story short, a co-worker's son was looking for a truck. We had re-financed our house and saved big-time. Sold the truck to the kid and bought the diesel Superduty.

Rollin' coal is addicting! I'm getting high 18s for mileage, certainly nowhere close to the 35+ you get

I'll second that, nothing quite like the clatter of a diesel under the hood.

I may be getting 35+ mpg's but my little 2.2 Perkins 0-60 times are measured in minutes not seconds.

I mounted mine on the pillar, I really wanted good guages to monitor the engine, too much invested to rely on factory guages.

Mounts and pods came with them from GloShift, the weathertrip covers the mounts and also the wires. Its a nice clean install and you can set limits and alarms for the tach, temp, and oil pressure, also at the push of a button they change colors I think 10 different colors
