I'm back OT thread
Proud....you bet.
Last year as a senior he finished in second place.
One of the pieces of stock he had to work with was not cut square on the ends.
And in his haste, he cut his part to far to one side, then ran out of stock to finish the other end completely.
I still to this day think they cut the material like that, /====/ just to see if the contestants caught it since the ends were parallel and there was enough stock if the part was located just right.
But out there in the real world, sometimes you have to work with less than ideal stock, so it was good training for him either way.
His main competition was Friday while I was working, so I did not get to go this year.
But I did go down for the awards Saturday so the wife and I could scream and yell, turning him red as a beet.
Last year the Nationals were in Louisville again.
Figures this year since he made it, they would be in Kansas City.
But I just may have to go anyway.
As for custom parts, you have no idea.
Jet powered go cart built from a couple 3406 turbos.
Off road buggy with a 440 2 stroke snowmobile engine.
Or the Honda 200 XR with a 250 Kawasaki engine.
I am looking at an 87 F350 4x4 with a 6.9 that may be his first truck.
