Sorry for leaving you all alone this weekend.
My son was in a Skills USA state VoTech school competition this weekend.
And the WV gold medal machinist lives at my house.
On to the Nationals in KC in June.

Dave congratulations to you and your son! When Skills Canada was in it's infancy almost 20 years ago, I was fortunate enough to win our provincials in machining, from which, we were invited to compete in the US Nationals. (That year they were in Louisville Kentucky.) It's an impressive event, and for anyone in forums like this that are technically oriented, it would be well worth going to watch. If I recall correctly I finished 12th out of 40+ high school level competitors, but to be honest, I just enjoyed going so much I could have finished last and I'd be happy.

congrats to all, i was in my high school machine shop, 3 years ago i belive, our competitor was in a 4 way tie for 1st place at national competiton. we have someone win our state every year, not officially but we have been claimed best high school machine shop in tennessee. i was pretty good but i screwed up an placed 3rd in my class at cnc milling or i woulda went
