ok how do you replace the window motor in the drivers side door? i havent been able to roll down the driver side window in the 14 months ive had it. i hate it.
Does the motor itself work still, I mean can you hear the motor spinning when you hit the button only the glass doesn't move?
If so you can fix it cheap, removing it for the repair is fairly simple. Worse part is carefully getting the door panel off without breaking the retainer slots on the backside, myself I use a flat bar.
and the door panel is no problem. the clips are all broken already. just threw some screws in on the bottom on the carpetted area. cant even tell they are there.
There are three 5/16" bolts you have to remove to separate the motor from the regulator.
You'll only be able to see/get a socket to one of them as shipped from the factory. The other two you'll need to drill access holes through the inner metal door skin large enough so you can get a socket on them. Some doors are marked for drilling, dimpled where you drill to access those bolts, some are not so its "best estimate" line of sight and go for it.
Remove those three bolts, unplug the wire harness and pull the motor out of the door. Reverse to install replacement motor, the holes drilled to access the bolts are covered by the inner door panel so no harm done.
On my truck you will have to drill 2 Holes to reach the bolts, there are little dents where you drill the holes, and then you can remove your motor, and replace it, i replace my driver side.
no the motor doesnt even start to turn or anything. the guy i bought it from said sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldnt so idk. im guessing either the mnotor is bad or there is a bad power connection somewhere.
My did that exact thing, sometimes it would and sometimes it would't, and then i just replace the motor and it work, the gears in it were all broken, i believe they sell kits for it, but i just ended up replacing the motor.
