Happy ending to a sad beginning! I'm glad to took our advice, especially when you were stranded. That's the time when you get desperate and do expensive things. When I was new to my truck I was stranded and got great advice on here. Saved me a lot of money.

Glad it worked out for you. that why i say that most techs at the dealer is part changers and don't know s**t about how to fix a truck.

I will say that I take offense to the dealership technicians being retards slander since I was one for 10 years...and a darn good one at that. I quit last week due to becoming burnt-out and showing signs of severe depression due to the lack of ambition in anything I did (I lost my wife due to my job interfering with home life).

Granted, not all technicians are actual technicians but there are a few of us out there that know what we're doing.

That's the whole trouble Cody, the good ones get burned out because they have to deal with all the BS from the company, etc. That leaves the tech's that don't know anything and that's what many of us see. When a guy can drive in, not be towed in and they want almost a grand, something is very wrong. As a locomotive engineer I saw way, way to many divorces, guys getting home and there is nothing there. No cars, furniture or cash in the bank. These heartless companies run their employees into the ground and still want more!!

That is exactly why I said that they are out there but they are very rare. I have delt with plenty of dealer techs and I wouldn't trust them with a butter knife in a rubber padded room, let alone my vehicle that makes me my living. If I ever have to bring my truck to be worked on for some strange reason of I can't do what needs to be done then it will go to a shop that doesn't say FORD on the side. They charge WAY to much for parts AND the service that they provide. I am sorry if I stepped on your toes there but that is just how I feel about dealer techs, of all the idiots that I've dealt with I've seen maybe 3 that would have half a chance of coming within 15 feet of my truck with a wrench.

Sorry to hear about the wife and depression. I hope the change in scenery treats you well and your spirits pick back up.
