$84 at the dealer for a road test verified I'm good with 123k on the motor. Now I have to get a gauge that will read the EOT correctly.
$84?? Two trips to the dealer would pay for the ScanGaugeII. I already had a SCT Programmer and was wanting to monitor my Temps. When I first started using it the unit could not read the Oil Temp on the 6.0. Those with the 7.3 the Oil Temps were already working. But I was able to get some new codes and I now have the Oil Temps on the ScanGaugeII. I would like to get something to monitor EGT's with soon.
That is strange. Where are you pulling your temps from? The only time I've seen EOT lower then ECT is when everything was getting up to operating temperature, after that EOT has always been higher. Only thing that I can think of is where you have the probe at compared to mine, that would be for both EOT and ECT.
And I will 2nd. the oil temp on my truck is always a few degrees higher then the ECT after the truck is up to operating temp.
The oil temp is consistent with the water temp all year round. I run around 190 -195 in the winter months here in Las Vegas and 200+ in the summer months. Oil temp is always a couple of degrees below coolant when driving normal. I have seen your setup... I highly recommend the billet cap, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks Jonathan, appreciate the comeback.....Guess it's about time I ordered the billet cap.....Altho - as I don't tow with the truck in the winter, it's not crucial. This one isn't leaking or anything.
