Strange "thump"

Strange "thump"
Ok, my truck has 33,000 on it. When I start it, about 20 seconds later there is a "thump", like someone has thrown a ball or something at the back of the cab.
Something in the tranny? It's puzzling.
Any thoughts?

If it happens when you put it in gear its the slip joint

Sounds to me like it could be the blend door. Part of the interior climate control
Once vacuum builds up depending on where your dial is set it may close causing the thump.
If I'm not correct someone will let us know.

It is the vacuum for the blend door. Mine does it every now and then also. It is nothing to worry about.

Yep, blend door. Mine is really loud sometimes and worried me at first. If you turn your fan to 'off' before shutting off I think it doesn't do it then. I hadn't noticed it for a while and it did it crazy loud yesterday and startled me.

Ok, mine does the same thing. thought it was the a/c clutch at first because some days it sounds almost like a grinding, i knew it was the a/c but it still worked fine so i didnt really worry about.
