TPS/Accelerator Question
I have an Accelerator pedal thats begining to fail. Casey (Fordbronco69) and I looked at it using his AE and determined it was faulty. Has anyone used the one from NAPA or Dorman? NAPA is $95 and the Dorman is $85 shipped to my door. I've looked at Ed's site and could only find the sensor, I think it was under $40, but I need the accelerator pedal postion sensor assembly. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I have a used one you can have if you want.At one time(brain fart)I thought mine was too sensitive and something wrong with it.Come to find out the new one is just as sensitive.It is yours,let me know.

Glenn...I think it is in my spare parts box that I keep.Let me check when I get home.It was working just like the new one I installed a year ago so I bet it will be a good one.PM me your number and I will let you know tonight.Used/good parts are cheaper.

Ed's pedals are around $77 bucks. the sensor at checker is around $70. when I tried to just replaced the sensor it still had a intermitten problem with the pedal. good luck to ya.

Update: I recieved Barry's pedal assembly in the mail yesterday, installed it, but the problem is still there. Thank you Barry!!
The truck acts like its surging while trying to accelerate. Meaning when I press the skinny pedal it'll accelerate then not then accelerate then not and so forth. One thing thats very odd is it don't do this in stock setting, race setting or extreme setting, only time it'll surge is in daily tune or tow tune. I'm beginning to think maybe my chip has some how turned against me??????

I'm just starting to get the same problem. It's very intermittent and has only done it twice in the last couple of days. Kind of scary when the truck lurches forward unexpectidly. Should I expect this to hget worse

Looked up cost of TPS on Ed the parts guy website. $37.00 + shipping.
Called my local stealership, are you sitting down? $97.50
. If I confirm the TPS is the culprit, I know where I will get it from.
I called NAPA also and they don't even list the part???
Anyway to prove it's the TPS?

I think you just need the sensor from Ed for your year. Mine is the entire pedal assembly, the more expensive ones.
