Was looking on Rock Auto to order a new throttle cable and a new iac. They have two different cables, the first is ATP brand an is 42.25 inches long and the second is Dorman which is 43.25 inches long. The one NAPA lists is also 43.25 inches long, so I was just going to order the Dorman cable, but then I noticed that it might take up to 25 days to ship because they don't have it in stock. Anyways, my question is, is the shorter cable going to be ok to use?
Anyone know for sure if the shorter cable will be ok? I guess it'll only cost me like $12 with shipping to find out, but it would still be nice to know.

Did you ever find out which cable length was correct?
Did you ever find out which cable length was correct?
I look up my purchase and it was from National Parts Depot in 2018. I then looked at the site and the length is not given. There was only one cable shown that matched my configuration for my 1988 F250. I checked my truck and both lengths will work in my opinion. There is a pretty good loop of slack coming out of the firewall before attaching to the throttle body. 1" more or less should not be an issue.Have a great day!
