I like this site alot, have been helped out in many jams. Most times just searching the site. Just curious about getting a new pedal from Ford and thought I should post and see what everyone thinks.
My truck has been suffering some pedal issues. It has an almost uncontrollable jerk and hesitation/cutout at low and cruising RPM's.
I've replaced the TPS with a Dorman 699-200, didn't solve the problem.
Still has dead spots and weird responsiveness. Does this cold or hot.
I've cleaned all the sensitive spots, adjust the IVS (with an adjustable screw).
The machined flat spot on the pedal arm that rolls the TPS sensor was dirty. I cleaned it up and put the assembly in and the truck ran awesome for a while. Had throttle control from idle all the way up. Now it is just ridiculious.
Put a cruise control horn pad on and if I use cruise the truck is smooth running, steady, and not jerky or cutting out all the time.
Just wondering if I should just replace the whole pedal or try another Dorman TPS.
