48 hood latch question

48 hood latch question

been working on getting some body things straightened away. i dont think the PO hooked the hood latch up quite right. i think the notch on the end of the handle should hook onto the tab that the spring is pushing against. can anybody plz confirm this? a pic of your setup would be helpful. thx!

No, it's correct as is. When you pull the handle it pushes against the tab. The plate the tab is connected to pivots - pin is under the spring. As it pivots the finger on the left side moves to the front, releasing the hood pin.

The one part I see missing is the spring that the pivot rod goes through. This might be causing a problem.
