I just bought a 1976 F150 and i am wanting to keep it as original as possible. Do you know what the colors for the valve covers and air cleaner was? I think it was just ford blue but im not sure.
If you get an aftermarket engine paint (such as VHT) that claims to be Ford Blue, make sure you shake it up really well before using it. I got a can a couple of years ago to spray on my newly rebuilt engine, and I was amazed at the color differences between the first shot and the later shots. I was certain I shook the can pretty long and vigorously before spraying, but the colors that came out at the two different times made me wonder whether I was using the same can. (I was)
BTW, interesting place to post your first message. Always glad to help, just kind of interesting that you are asking about a '76 F-150 in the Aerostar forum.
